If you have been abroad and become ill shortly after returning home, then you may be affected by a disease more common in that region. Use this function to modify the results according to the region you have travelled from. If you have not travelled then select the region that applies to where you live.

  • If your symptom is not included in the list that appears, you can still just type it in
  • Enter each symptom on a separate line
  • Enter only abnormal test results. Don’t use numbers, for test results enter the meaning in words

These are possible conditions for your symptoms. The order of the conditions is based on relevance - the word match between your symptoms and our database - NOT clinical likelihood for you. The conditions can be sorted by ‘show 10’, ‘show all’, ‘red flags’ or ‘common/rare’.

We want to make you aware of some exciting news! We have now upgraded our technology platform to provide our mobile users with the same user experience you get on the desktop version.


How does this affect you?


The upgrade provides changes that allow you access a fully compatible system across your mobile devices, laptops and desktops. In addition, the latest version provides access to more robust knowledge resources like Merck Manual Consumer.


What do you need to do?


The upgrade is very straightforward so you can enjoy uninterrupted use of Isabel. When you are ready you should delete the app from your iPhone/Android device and use the following instructions to save the new icon to your home screen:


On the device go to: https://symptomchecker.isabelhealthcare.com, and save the shortcut to your home screen. If you have already registered for a free account - click on the icon – select ‘login’ and enter your details, check ‘remember me’ to save login details. Click on ‘Try it out’ for limited usage, no registration required.

Please note :

1. For existing Android app subscriptions, you will need to cancel your auto-renewal Isabel subscription once you delete the app, click here for details on how to do it: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en

2. Safari users will need to disable “Block Pop ups” in  Settings in order to get to the linked resources.
